In a critical effort to implement efficiencies, reduce wait times, improve patient experience, and support healthcare providers, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is implementing the first GE Healthcare Real Time Location System (RTLS) in Canada.
Called Encompass, the equipment tracking system can track healthcare assets throughout the facility, streamlining access and preventing service delays. Ultimately it enables OSMH staff to spend more time caring for patients and less time looking for equipment.
“Increasing the quality time that care providers can spend with patients at the bedside, by reducing the time spent searching for the tools and materials they need to do their job, is an opportunity for improvement we couldn’t afford to pass up.” Carmine Stumpo, President & CEO
By introducing the first GE Encompass Real Time Location System in Canada, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital can track healthcare assets throughout the facility to streamline access and prevent service delays. Ultimately it allows clinicians to spend more time caring for patients and less time looking for equipment. Since implementation, this has already led to realized savings of over $100,000 in mobile assets, with many other asset management optimization opportunities identified.
