The St. Mary’s Mustangs missed out on the semifinals of the OFSAA A/AA Boys Field Lacrosse championships going today at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex in Owen Sound, after dropping a heartbreaker in overtime Monday.
St. Mary’s played two matches, beating Keswick 15-1 and then falling 10-9 in overtime to Holy Cross (Peterborough).
The Mustangs will still be competing in placement games today.
The semifinals at 11 a.m. pit Holy Cross against Holy Trinity, and Governor Simcoe against McKinnon Park.
The OFSAA Championship is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex.
GIRLS RUGBY
At the OFSAA A/AA Girls Rugby Championships in Cobourg, Grey Highlands finished 1-1 on Day 1 of the event.
The Lions beat Eastdale 27-5 and then fell 21-5 against La Salle.
Grey Highlands faces Twin Lakes in the consolation semifinal at noon.
