A search is underway in the Midhurst area of Springwater Township for an 87 year-old man who took his dogs for a walk yesterday afternoon and has not been seen since. Harvey Doherty was last seen around 4 p.m. Thursday when he took two dogs for a walk along trails behind his residence in the County Road 27 and Highway 26 area.
He was wearing a blue sweater, black pants, hiking boots. He about 6 feet tall with grey hair.
OPP are using ground searchers, aircraft and dogs to try to locate him.
Georgian Bay Volunteer Search and Rescue teams are also helping and a command post has been set up at the Simcoe county Museum. Police say the dogs have returned home however Harvey is still missing.
