There are renewed calls for stricter gun control in the United States, after the latest mass shooting.
An 18-year-old man, identified as Salvador Ramos, opened fire yesterday at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde and was shot dead by police, after killing at least 19 children and two adults.
U.S. President Joe Biden held a public address on the massacre last night.
He said, “As a nation we must ask: When in God’s name will we stand up to the gun lobby? When in God’s name will we do what needs to be done? I’m sick and tired of it. We have to act.”

The incident in Texas was the deadliest shooting at an American school in almost a decade, since a gunmen killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012.
It also came about 10 days after a gunman killed 10 Black shoppers and workers at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, in what authorities described as a racially motivated attack.
For every parent, for every citizen, we have to make it clear to every elected official: It’s time for action.
