The Williamsford Pie Company has suffered significant damage due to an early morning fire.
Chatsworth Fire Chief Mike Givens says a delivery truck driver called it in at about 4:30 this morning.
Givens says fire crews arrived to find smoke coming out from all the windows.
About 15 firefighters responded with four trucks and one Grey County air refill truck.
Givens says no one was injured and no one was in the building at the time.
He says the damage is significant.
No word on the cause yet, but Givens says that will be looked at today.
Highway 6 was closed for a few hours this morning. It has since reopened.
Owner Kim Caragianakos says she was in the GTA at the time helping her husband with his restaurant there, and she received a call from the police at about 5 this morning, and drove up to Chatsworth.
She says it’s too soon to know what will happen with the building or what her next steps are aside from talking with her insurance company. She says about 11 people had been employed there.
Caragianakos says the pie company is currently not able to operate and will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
