The Billy Bishop Home and Museum is hosting its annual Fire and Ice Fundraising Gala.
It’s a ‘ladies night out’ event at the Best Western Inn on the Bay that includes a live purse auction as well as a silent auction.
The event is set to be held on Saturday, May 7th. Tickets can be purchased until May 1st. You can buy them online at billybishopmuseum.org
The evening begins with a cocktail hour with a complimentary glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres. During the cocktail hour, participants can enter to win items at the ticket draw table as well as bid on silent auction items, donated by local businesses.
New this year, participants can purchase a wine cork (limited number) and enter to win a bottle of wine to enjoy at home.
Dinner will be served by local businessmen.
The live purse auction involves bidding on a purse in the hope of winning the one that has the ‘ice.’ This year it is a diamond and sapphire set in 14 karat gold, donated by D.C. Taylor Jewellers.
The Billy Bishop Home and Museum is a non-profit organization that relies on grants from federal, provincial and municipal governments, donations and fundraising.
Billy Bishop was a Canadian First World War flying Ace and Victoria Cross recipient. The museum is the site of his childhood home.
