Hanover’s Chief Administrative Officer is retiring from his position and a new CAO has been selected.
Effective August 31, 2022, CAO Brian Tocheri, will retire from his position after leading the municipality for eight years.
The Town says in a release, “Brian will be missed by both the organization and the community. He has led and been a part of many successful projects and initiatives throughout his tenure. We commend Brian for his many contributions and wish him well in retirement.”
Council has already completed a recruitment process and has selected Sherri Walden as Hanover’s new CAO beginning in July 2022.
Tocheri and Walden will work together throughout July and August to support and ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities and continuity of municipal services.
Walden joined the Town of Hanover in 1992. After serving 18 years as Recreation Programs Manager, she progressed to Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture in 2010 and has spent the last 12 years leading that department.
The Town says, “Sherri is a driven leader who has embraced and championed the municipality’s progressive vision and values. Her extensive experience and knowledge in all areas of municipal governance will serve the Hanover community, residents, visitors and staff well. We congratulate Sherri on her advancement and look forward to what the future holds for Hanover.”
