Grey Bruce is expected to get some freezing rain today.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the region, with possible ice build-up of two to four millimetres, especially over higher terrain.
Forecasters say precipitation is expected to begin as snow and ice pellets this morning, and then will quickly transition to freezing rain in the afternoon.
“Two to four hours of freezing rain will be possible before a transition to light rain late in the afternoon or early evening as temperatures rise above zero,” Environment Canada advises.
Environment Canada says surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
“Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break, and utility outages may occur,” the weather forecast service says.
