A shooting is what prompted police to close off a section of road near Brucefield over the weekend.
Huron OPP say they responded to an incident Sunday night along Bannockburn Line.
In a news release, police say a victim had sustained injuries from a gunshot following an altercation, and is currently in hospital with serious but stable injuries.
Reports say two people were taken into custody on firearms related charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
