The Hanover & District Hospital (HDH) plans to continue to uphold its policies involving vaccinations and visiting despite the loosening of Covid restrictions.
HDH says it will continue to check vaccine passports for non-essential visitors upon entry throughout the next month and possibly longer.
HDH says as the pandemic is still ongoing and shows itself to be a significant risk for vulnerable people who utilize the hospital, the hospital strongly feels it needs to maintain the current Covid measures in place as a matter of patient safety and for the protection of staff and physicians.
Proof of full Covid vaccination will still be needed to enter the hospital for social visiting.
Restrictions will still be in place for the emergency department, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, and surgical services.
HDH President and CEO Dana Howes says, “we continue to ask for kindness and understanding from patients and the public during these difficult times. HDH must do everything we can to ensure that access to health care will not be compromised.”
More details including possible exceptions can be found on the HDH website.
