A Collingwood man is accused of impersonating a police officer.
The OPP says it received a report of a man making threats, who had claimed to be a police officer and was in possession of a firearm last Thursday (March 3).
Police say the individual was located and arrested.
Officers seized an imitation firearm and fraudulent police identification.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old male of Collingwood, has been charged with the following offences:
- Utter Threats to Cause Death
- Personate a Peace Officer
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Breach of an Undertaking
- Breach of Probation
The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim of the threats. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood, at a future date.
