The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 178 new COVID-19 cases today and two deaths.
Deaths include a man from Simcoe county between the ages of 65 and 79 and a Muskoka man between the ages of 45 and 64.
Today’s update also includes 4 new hospitalizations and 27 people are currently hospitalized in the region with the virus. There are currently five people in ICU with the virus in the region.
To date, 85 percent of the region’s over 5 population has received their first vaccination, while 81 percent have received their second.
52 percent of the region’s over 18 population has received a third/booster shot.
