The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 162 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths.
Deaths include three men over the age of 79 and a woman between the ages of 45 and 64 – all from Simcoe County and a woman over 79 from Muskoka.
Today’s update also includes 3 new hospitalizations – currently, there are at least 30 people hospitalized with the virus throughout the region.
To date, 85 percent of the region’s over 5 population has received a first vaccine dose, while 81 percent has received two. 47 percent of the region’s over 18 population has received a third/booster dose.
