The Barrie Good Food Box program helps individuals or families experiencing food insecurity.
The boxes are packed with fresh, high-quality, seasonal fruits and vegetables, which can be purchased monthly for $17.
They typically include 2 pounds of carrots, 2 pounds of onions, 3 pounds of apples and 10 pounds of potatoes, plus about 5-6 additional fruits and vegetables.
The Good Food Box is a not-for-profit buying club, which is open to anyone in the community.
If you do not pick up your box, it will be donated to a social service agency in Barrie that will deliver the food to an individual or family who needs it. Or you can purchase a Pay-It-Forward box instead.
The boxes are shared on a rotating basis with CMHA, the Women and Children’s Shelter, UPlift Black, Youth Haven, Barrie Native Friendship Centre, Barrie Families Unite, & more!
