The Township of Springwater is offering a new virtual presentation offered in celebration of Ontario Heritage Week.
Through the newly developed “Heritage at Home” platform, residents will be able to explore some of Springwater’s most unique heritage buildings room-by-room, without ever having to leave their home.
“We are proud to take part in Ontario Heritage Week by shining a spotlight on our local architecture, culture and heritage,” says Alyssa McGinnis, who is Chair of the Springwater Heritage Advisory Committee. “Springwater is home to some fascinating heritage buildings and the Heritage at Home initiative will give people a great opportunity to appreciate the properties and features that reflect our community’s vibrant history.”
Properties featured in the series include Crossland General Store, Martingrove House and Parker House, all which are officially designated by the Township of Springwater as a properties of cultural heritage value or interest under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act.
Residents can begin their virtual tour by visiting springwater.ca/HeritageAtHome.
This year, Ontario Heritage Week will occur from February 21 to 27.
