An arson charge has been laid, following a fire in Clearview.
Police say it broke out at a home on the 6th Concession just before noon last Wednesday (Feb.9), and caused about 300-thousand dollars in damage.
The two residents who were in the home at the time of the fire had escaped prior to the arrival of emergency services and were not injured.
As a result of a joint investigation between the Huronia West OPP Crime Unit and The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office (OFM) an arrest was made on Friday February 11, 2022.
Police say Dean DOUCET, 30 years old, of Clearview Township has been arrested and charged with:
· Arson – Disregard for Human Life
DOUCET was held for a bail hearing in the Ontario court of Justice in Collingwood, and was remanded into custody.
