Barrie police are searching for a suspect in connection with a convenience store robbery.
Police say the suspect inquired about vaping products at the Circle K on Marsellus Drive yesterday afternoon, when he was advised photo I.D. would be required.
That’s when police say the young man claimed his mother would be attending to buy the products for him, but instead, he returned a short time later and displayed what appeared to be a gun before fleeing the scene with a quantity of vaping products.
No one was injured and even though police have video surveillance footage of the suspect, he appears to be under 18 years of age, so his image cannot be shared under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The suspect is described as:
- Male, Black, approximately 5’10”
- Wearing a large red winter coat, with fur around the hood
- Wearing a black COVID face mask with a yellow Nike logo on it
Investigating officers are asking anyone who may have information to please contact the Barrie Police Service at 705-725-7025 ext. 2704. Any information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or leave an anonymous tip online at www.p3tips.com.
