The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 239 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths.
Deaths include two men and two women over 79 years old and a man between the ages of 65 and 79. All were from Simcoe County.
Today’s update also includes 8 new hospitalizations. There are currently 43 people hospitalized with the virus throughout the region.
To date, 85 percent of the region’s over 5 population has received its first vaccine dose while 81 percent has received its second. 47 percent of the region’s over 18 population has received a third booster dose.
