Two people face charges after an altercation with police following a traffic stop on Hwy 11.
Thursday at 9:25 pm OPP stopped a speeding vehicle in Gravenhurst and say the driver became confrontational and fought with officers.
As they gained control of him the passenger fled on foot.
At 12:30 am following a search he too was taken into custody.
The pair – from York and North York – face numerous charges including drug trafficking.
Police seized quantities of cocaine and fentanyl and a large sum of Canadian currency along with a loaded restricted firearm.
The pair are to appear in Bracebridge bail court today.
