Haliburton OPP is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 35 south of Dorset.
It happened around the noon hour and involved a passenger vehicle and flatbed truck near Shoe Lake Road.
One driver has been pronounced dead. Their identity will be withheld until the family can be notified.
Highway 35 will remain closed in both directions for several hours – the detour is via Hwy118 to Hwy11 to Muskoka Rd 117 back to Hwy35.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact the Haliburton Highlands OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
