Why does it stink in Collingwood?
The town says it is experiencing intermittent strong odours in the vicinity of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and expects this to continue over the next three weeks as a result of the digestion process being brought back in service following routine maintenance.
It says the work is a little smellier than usual due to supply chain issues that caused delays to some of the maintenance work.
Collingwood officials say the final effluent quality (what is being discharged to the harbour) still meets standard treatment requirements and should not be cause for concern.
