Starting today, Service Barrie will fully reopen to walk-in services and appointments are no longer necessary.
Service Barrie is located on the first floor of City Hall, 70 Collier Street, and is open Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The City’s customer service representatives can also be reached via phone or email, 705-726-4242 or ServiceBarrie@barrie.ca, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Service Barrie provides services such as purchase of parking passes, garbage tags and transit passes; payments for records requests, pet licences, tax and water bills, parking tickets, and building permits; and pickup of recycling boxes and green bins. For convenience and to skip the line, residents are still welcome to book an appointment for any service by calling 705-726-4242.
For business licences, marriage licences and commissioning of documents, the public will be required to book an appointment for Tuesdays or Thursdays by calling 705-726-4242.
The following safety precautions are in place at City Hall:
- Please do not visit City Hall if you are sick or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
- Everyone entering City Hall is required to wear a face covering.
- Members of the public should access City Hall via the Worsley St. entrance off the parking lot.
- Capacity limits will be monitored.
- Signage and floor decals indicate proper physical distancing.
The City’s online services are listed at barrie.ca/OnlineServices. With the recent launch of Service Barrie online, available at ServiceBarrie.ca, citizens can apply for tax or water payment plans, submit service requests, report a pothole and other concerns, receive real-time updates, and be notified when a service issue has been resolved.
