South Bruce Peninsula spent just over $162,000 in 2021 on salaries and expenses paid to council members and some citizens on the police services board.
The annual report on remuneration and expenses was included on council’s agenda at its Feb. 1 meeting.
Mayor Janice Jackson was paid just under $48,000 in salary and expenses last year, the most spent on an elected member of council.
Next was Deputy Mayor Jay Kirkland at just over $33,000, followed by councillors Kathy Durst (just over $27,000); Paul McKenzie (just over $26,800); and Terry Bell (almost $26,500).
