Playing a scratch lottery ticket has made a Barrie man a quarter of a million dollars richer.
Junior Thomas won the $250,000 top prize with INSTANT MERRY & BRIGHT.
“I’m a regular lottery player and I love to play LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49 and INSTANT games,” shared Junior while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his win. “This is my first big win!”
Junior, who works in facilities management, says he played his ticket and thought he won $250 when he noticed he had a matching number. “I took a closer look and realized it was actually $250,000! I didn’t know how to react. It didn’t feel real,” he said.
Junior shared the news with his fiancé right away. “She was in as much disbelief as me,” he said. “This is amazing.”
Junior plans to pay some bills, take his family on vacation, and put some of his win aside.
“I never expected something like this, but it happens!” he concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Cedar Pointe Convenience .
