The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 219 new COVID-19 cases today and 4 deaths.
Deaths include two women and two men from Simcoe county who were all over the age of 79.
Today’s update also includes 8 new hospitalizations – there are currently 48 people hospitalized throughout the region due to the virus.
To date, 86 percent of the region’s over 5 population has received its first vaccine dose while 81 percent has received its second.
46 percent of the population over 18 populations has received its third booster dose.
