The Ontario Land Tribunal has turned down an appeal by a group that is trying to prevent the County Of Simcoe from building a recycling and organics facility in a Springwater Township forest. The tribunal dismissed concerns of a neighbouring land owner, and a group called the friends of Simcoe County Forests.
The county first proposed the project a decade ago. The waste processing facility is to be built in the Freele Tract of Simcoe County Forests , at 2976 Horseshoe Valley Road.
