Saugeen Shores police say they’ve charged two people following a drug investigation in Port Elgin.
Police say in a release, on January 20th, officers from the Criminal Investigations and Drug Branch began an investigation in Port Elgin, which led to the arrest of a 36 year old man for trafficking offences.
The next day, they executed a search warrant at an apartment unit in Port Elgin. During the execution of the warrant three men and a woman were taken into custody.
A 36 year old Port Elgin man has been charged with the following:
Traffick in Schedule I substance – Opioid – CDSA 5(1)
Traffick in Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine – CDSA 5(1)
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid – CDSA 5(2)
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine – CDSA 5(2)
Possession of a Schedule III substance – CDSA 4(1) – LSD
A 25 year old woman of no fixed address has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance – CDSA 4(1) – Fentanyl
Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – CC 145(5)(a)
Possession of a Schedule III substance – CDSA 4(1) – LSD
The 36 year old man was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody. The 25 year old woman was released with a court date.
The three men who were there during the search of the apartment were released unconditionally.
