The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU is reporting 466 new COVID-19 cases today and five deaths.
The deaths include three men over the age of 79 in Muskoka and two women from Simcoe County – one over the age of 79, the other between the ages of 65 and 79.
It’s the first update since this past Friday. There were also 8 new hospitalizations. There are currently 4 people in ICUs with the virus across the region.
To date, 85 percent of the over 5 population in the region has received its first vaccine dose while 80 percent have received their second. 42 percent of the region’s over 18 population has received a third/booster dose.
