A Snow Squall Warning is in effect for most of the region.
Environment Canada says snow squalls and lake effect snow could bring anywhere from 40-60cms by later today.
It says the squalls could make travel difficult in some areas and reduce visibility in blowing snow.
Motorists should turn on their full headlighting system, give themself plenty of space to stop and drive according to the conditions.
