Georgian College students are starting their winter term online today.
A record 9,300 students are enrolled at its campuses for this year, but due to the highly transmissible Omicron variant, the school has decided to stick with the model used for the fall term, with about 70 percent of learning done virtually.
Until at least Jan. 28, only students required to have in-person courses in order to meet learning outcomes will have on-campus activity, while all other students will learn remotely and Jan. 31 is the earliest that originally scheduled in-person classes will resume for most students.
