Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada ( Owen Sound ) Postponed
Given the new provincial restrictions amid the recent surge of COVID in Ontario, Sportsnet, Scotiabank and the City of Owen Sound have decided to postpone the 2022 Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada festival until Winter 2023.
While unfortunate, this decision was made in compliance with local health protocols and to ensure the safety of all participants. We look forward to celebrating Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada with the passionate community of Owen Sound next year.
The national Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada broadcast will continue as planned on January 29, as Sportsnet and Scotiabank celebrate the game with a day-long marathon of live NHL coverage.
Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada festivities were to take place January 26-29 in Owen Sound.
Dates for winter 2023 will be determined upon release of the 2022/2023 NHL schedule. Details regarding ticket refunds or exchange will be available in the coming days for those who have purchased tickets to the Music of Hockey at the Roxy Theatre or event tickets purchased at the McVicar McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office.
The City and Local Organizing Committee is grateful for the outpouring of support from community-minded sponsors and will be contacting those businesses individually over the coming days.

Attack Deals
The Owen Sound Attack made 2 transactions yesterday in advance of the Ontario Hockey League Trade Deadline.
The Attack dealt overage defenceman Andrew Perrott to Windsor in exchange for 4 draft picks including a 2nd rounder from Ottawa in the upcoming Priority Selection.
Owen Sound will also receive Hamilton’s 3rd in 2023, Windsor’s 3rd in 2025 & Windsor’s 6th in 2024.
Perrott, the son of Owen Sound native Nathan Perrott, was having a solid season with the Attack this year with 22 points in 23 games and a + 12 rating
With a vacant overage spot after trading Perrott to Windsor, the Attack then sent 2 picks to Barrie in exchange for overage Nicholas Porco
Porco has scored 43 OHL goals with Saginaw and the Colts
The Colts will receive Owen Sound’s 5th on 2022 & Owen Sound’s 12th in 2023.

Djokovic Denied
Tennis star Novak Djokovic was denied entry into Australia and had his visa cancelled after arriving in Melbourne to defend his title at the season-opening tennis major.
The Australian Border Force issued a statement early Thursday local time saying Djokovic failed to provide appropriate evidence to meet entry requirements
The top-ranked Djokovic flew in after receiving a medical exemption from the strict coronavirus vaccination requirements in place for the Australian Open
Djokovic’s lawyers are expected to appeal the decision.
