Owen Sound Police say a 27-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged for allegedly stealing a pickup truck.
City Police say an Owen Sound resident parked his truck at a west-side business yesterday afternoon and left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside.
During the short time he was inside the business, the man’s truck was stolen and driven away from the area.
According to Owen Sound Police, at around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday morning an officer spotted the stolen truck parked in the area of Highway 26 and 28th Avenue East. The police officer arrested a man who was sitting in the driver’s seat.
Police say the 27-year-old man was transported to the Owen Sound Police Station and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and numerous counts of breach of probation.
The accused, who has not been identified by police, remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
The truck was later returned to the registered owner.
