Canada now has enough vaccines for everyone in the country.
Today Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said thank you to everyone who continues to step up and follow public health guidelines.
He says if it’s your turn to get the booster or if your children are eligible to get vaccinated it’s the right thing to do.
“If you haven’t yet gotten vaccinated for whatever reasons know that there is a vaccine for you waiting – at your local pharmacy or your local health centre – we have all the vaccines we need for all Canadians so please get yourself vaccinated – that’s how we keep our health systems from getting overwhelmed, that’s how we minimize the impact of COVID on our society, on our economy. on our neighbours and on our frontline workers,” he said.
In the meantime, rapid tests are being sent to provinces. 120 million rapid tests have already been delivered.
200 members of the armed forces are now headed into Quebec to support vaccination clinics there too.
Closing in on two years of the pandemic, Trudeau says today’s situation is not where people wanted to be and he understands people are frustrated.
