The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 1,709 new COVID-19 cases in its latest update and one new death.
It’s the first case update from the health unit since December 24th.
Today’s cases include 598 in Barrie, 47 in Collingwood, 24 in Wasaga Beach, and 77 in Orillia.
330 of today’s cases are children.
Today’s update also includes 4 new hospitalizations and 447 newly resolved cases.
