Some footprints in the snow have helped the OPP arrest a theft suspect in Collingwood.
Police responded to an alarm at a business on First Street in the early hours of December 10th, when officers found a front window smashed and some items stolen.
After following some fresh prints in the snow, officers found a discarded jacket and inside the pockets was a document with a person’s name on it.
Officers continued to follow the footprints which led to a nearby residence and upon knocking on the door, officers were greeted by a male who was identified as the person whose name appeared on the found document.
Further investigation found that a pair of boots observed near the front door were an exact match to the footprints coming from the store on First Street. As such officers arrested the male and transported him to detachment for processing.
Charged is Tracey Colin HUTCHINSON, 47 years-old, from Collingwood. He is charged with one count of Break and Enter and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on the 11th of January 2022 .
