The 82nd CFOS Sun Times Christmas Fund Broadcast has received a generous contribution to support local charities.
The donation matched existing pledges and made a $35,000 contribution to the fund, bringing the fund’s total as of December 23rd to $68,853.
It comes from Shouldice Designer Stone in Shallow Lake.
The say in a statement, “On behalf of Steve, Brad, & all the employees of Shouldice Designer Stone we are proud community members and happy to support the local causes that the Christmas Broadcast Fund represents.”
The actual broadcast kicked off this year with an drive and an on-air “auction” on Bayshore Boradcasting’s three Owen Sound stations (Mix 106.5, Country 93.7 and AM 560 CFOS. The eight-hour marathon broadcast was held on December 5th.
Local performers and talent submitted recordings of their songs which were broadcast over CFOS as pledges were read in between.
The fund remains open until January 31 and people are still able to donate at any RBC branch in Grey Bruce during regular business hours.
Funds will be divided equally among 23 local charities that rely on the fund broadcast to assist them in their work with children, youth and seniors:
