A single-vehicle crash on Highway 26 west of Minesing has resulted in the arrest of a 29 year old Brampton man.
The OPP says the crash happened on Tuesday night, when the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and ran into a rural area.
A short time later, police say the driver was located and apprehended.
Police say the suspect was subsequently identified as the same driver who had also fled earlier when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The OPP says Christopher ANOFF (age 29) of Brampton, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
· Flight from Peace Officer
· Failure to Stop After Accident
· Trespassing at Night
· Careless Driving
· Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
· Driving While Under Suspension
· Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on February 1st, 2022.
