Thousands of people remain without power this morning, after the latest wind storm moved through the province.
Hydro One says crews are working hard to fix the problems, while additional resources are being moved into the hardest hit areas, including North Bay, Parry Sound and Huntsville.
Hopefully, all power will be restored by this afternoon.
Meanwhile, after a record-breaking warm day, a chance of flurries returns to the forecast today with the temperature dropping to near the freezing mark.
Here’s a look a the record-breaking highs in the region yesterday (Thursday):
- Orillia- High 16 degrees Celsius (Record: 5.7°C in 2012)
- Collingwood- High 18 degrees Celsius (Record: 10.3°C in 1997)
- Muskoka- High 18 degrees Celsius (Record: 3.2°C in 2006)
Though temperatures will remain a few degrees above seasonal this afternoon, a system is set to track south of the border tomorrow, with wet snow and a gusty northeast wind expected across much of southern Ontario.
