West Grey Police have charged a Kincardine man with criminal negligence after a fatal collision in West Grey last month.
West Grey Police say, as a result of an investigation by their Criminal Investigation Unit, an arrest has been made and charges laid in connection to a Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision that took place on Sunday November 7, 2021 at approximately 1:25 p.m. on Grey Road 4 near Concession 2 east of Durham.
Jeremy Hogg (26 years old) of Kincardine has been charged with:
– Criminal Negligence Causing Death
– Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm (2 counts)
– Robbery
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $ 5,000.00
Police say the accused remains held in custody.
West Grey Police note that no other information is available at the present time as this matter continues to be investigated by the province’s Special Investigations Unit.
The SIU issued a release back in November which said preliminary information at the time suggested suggested a West Grey Police officer attempted to stop a driver in the area of Priceville.
According to the SIU report, the driver fled the area and was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Grey Road 4 near Concession 2 east of Durham.
The man in the vehicle that was struck, died at the scene and two passengers in the vehicle were seriously injured.
