Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

There’s an Ontario Hockey League game tomorrow night at the JD McArthur; …..the Kitchener Rangers are coming to town to meet the Owen Sound Attack.
The level of anticipation for this particular game has led to some dubbing it ” The War at the Bayshore “, ” or the ” War at the Shore “…….We’ll see……
For the record, I have no issue, whatsoever, with anything that’s transpired over the last two encounters between these teams.
To make a lengthy story very short, a sequence of events involving Deni Goure, Roman Schmidt, Mark Woolley, Arber Xhekaj ( which ironically rhymes with ” black eye ” ), plus the conflict between the coaching staffs of both teams escalated very quickly and has led many to believe the 7 remaining games between these teams this year will be extremely rugged.
And let’s be clear, while the participants and observers on both sides of this equation are pointing fingers at the other side, the dominos that have fallen have been sequential and almost predictable to those involved and those watching.
Thus, the expectation and prediction remains that tomorrow’s game will be the latest round in a 10 round regular season tilt.
Again, we’ll see.
In many cases, the anticipated and promoted fireworks between hockey teams don’t always detonate, which in many cases produces an exceptional game.
Next, points are extremely valuable in a congested Western Conference and neither team can afford to lose focus on garnering points at the expense of settling a score.
Do I think everything is settled, that Kitchener and Owen Sound are ” even “, and that conflict between the two teams is over ?
No way…..But I’m not convinced that there will be a further escalation of the hostilities tomorrow night in Owen Sound.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
