A website featuring events, social channels, parking, and a business directory is being launched for Owen Sound’s River District.
It’s part of a key recommendation in the River District Action Plan.
The website was created through consultations between the River District Board of Management and the City of Owen Sound.
Owen Sound Community Development Coordinator Viveca Gravel says the entire website was reimagined based on being compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
“It focuses very much on clarity and simplistic use available to everyone, with easy access to various points that we have researched and developed, knowing that people want access to business directories, events, and things like parking very easily, so we put a focus on those things,” says Gravel.
Businesses and event-holders in the River District as being asked to send their events to be put up on the website, and for businesses in the area to update their directory listings as they change.
This follows as the River District Action Plan was named a finalist in the Planning and Strategic Development category of the 2021 Economic Developers Council of Ontario Awards of Excellence.
