It’s pretty obvious here in Flint, Michigan that it’s a football weekend.
As the Attack prepare to meet the Flint Firebirds tonight & tomorrow in the Ontario Hockey League, the primary topic of sports discussion in the state centers around football.
Pittsburgh & Minnesota played last night in the Thursday night NFL game.
Coming up Sunday, there’s a handful of big matchups including Buffalo at Tampa Bay.
There’s also much debate as to whether the Detroit Lions can make it 2 in a row when they visit Denver on Sunday
Plus, US College Football, which I pat zero attention to, is featured prominently on every TV screen here.
Most of the focus is some 3 weeks out when # 2 Michigan goes against Georgia in a Final 4 semifinal
Of course in Canada, which gets no attention here in Flint, the Grey Cup for the Canadian Football League Championship will be decided.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the CFL title.
The Tiger-Cats won the East last week with a win at Toronto while the Blue Bombers come in as the favorite having beaten Saskatchewan in the West Final to earn their berth in the Grey Cup
Have a great weekend.
