A special weather statement has been issued in Grey Bruce for strong winds on Thursday.
Environment Canada says southwesterly winds with gusts of up to 80 km/h are expected to developing early this morning. The winds are then expected to shift to westerly late in this morning and to northwesterly this afternoon.
Forecasters say while there may be brief periods of lighter gusts throughout the day, the threat of strong winds will persist until Thursday evening.
“High winds may toss loose objects and cause tree branches to break. Local power outages are also possible,” the statement from Environment Canada says.
