Simcoe-Muskoka continues to experience higher Covid-19 transmission rates and higher per-capita case numbers than much of the province.
Simcoe-Muskoka’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Charles Gardner is concerned and says if the trajectory continues, he may consider re-establishing capacity limits for businesses and other venues.
“This is not something that I’m intending to do immediately, this is something I’m looking at if it proves to be necessary depending on the trajectory of our cases,” said Gardner this afternoon. “(But) it’s something that I want the community to be aware of. We are going to be issuing an open letter to businesses and to the community identifying the situation we’re in.”
