Provincial Police say they’ve been hearing concerns from residents in Walkerton about speeding along the east and west hills in the town.
South Bruce OPP say over 15 hours of enforcement were dedicated between Oct. 20 and Nov. 21, when police officers conducted patrols in the area.
Police say during this initiative 13 drivers were charged with speed, 17 were stopped and warned about speeding, 15 motorists were stopped and warned about other infractions, while five drivers were charged with other moving violations.
“Remember that speeding through a residential area with a reduced speed zone creates an unnecessary risk for anyone that is out walking or riding a bicycle,” South Bruce OPP say in a statement.
