Bracebridge OPP has found human remains during a search for a missing person in Wahta Mohawk First Nation.
On November 15th at 11 am a 49-year-old woman was reported to have failed to return from a walk in a wooded area and search and rescue efforts were started in the area.
On November 17th at 10:20 am police say human remains were located in the search area. They say the death is not believed to be suspicious and there are no concerns for public safety.
The name of the deceased will be withheld pending positive identification and next of kin notification.
The search has now been suspended until the identity can be confirmed.
The investigation is continuing.
OPP is thanking members of the public for their patience with the increased police presence in the area.
