A Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect for Barrie, Collingwood, Hillsdale and the Blue Mountains.
Environment Canada says flurries coming in off of Georgian Bay will be heavy at times this afternoon and tonight, with snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 cm possible in one or two hours.
However, it says there won’t be as much accumulation near Georgian Bay because the flurries will be mixed with rain.
The weather agency says motorists should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions, so slow down, maintain a safe following distance, and make sure your full headlighting system is on, including your tail lights.
