Blue Mountain Resort has announced hourly wage hikes, which are higher than the provincial minimum wage of 15 dollars promised in the New Year.
It says wages across the Resort now start at $16.50 and it currently has 500 available positions heading into the upcoming ski season.
They include: outdoor jobs like lift operations and skate attendants as well as indoor jobs such as room attendants, servers, and contact centre agents.
“We have always exceeded minimum hourly wage guidelines,” says Dan Skelton, President and COO of Blue Mountain Resort. “This change amounts to a $1M investment in our employees. We do our very best to balance the needs of all stakeholders when it comes to ensuring competitive compensation and we feel that an increase right now will not only assist our current employees but also help us in recruiting the people we need to join our team this winter.”
The updated wage ranges support Blue’s already competitive employee perks which include a Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) that provides eligible employees with $500 for each season worked, a free ski or snowboard pass to Blue Mountain Resort along with a variety of other Resort discounts for active employees and their families.
Blue Mountain jobs are listed online at www.bluemountain.ca/jobs and applicants are invited to apply directly online or by visiting one of the weekly job fairs or walk-up interviews.
As always, applicants are welcome to contact Human Resources via email anytime at apply@bluemountain.ca.
