Ramara Township is proposing to rename five of the six sections of Concession Road 10.
It says duplicate road names can result in delays in emergency response from Fire, Police, Ambulance and utility companies.
There are currently six (6) different sections of Concession Road 10 in the geographic boundary of Ramara, and Council has endorsed the review and renaming of five (5) sections. The section of road from Highway 12 east and past Udney will remain Concession Road 10.
A notice has been circulated to all residents affected; and staff will gather the name suggestions, consult with the Ramara Historical Society and will propose new road names to Council for consideration. Residents that submit road suggestions or sign up to be notified will be notified when the report will be sent to Council in early 2022.
The sections of road proposed to be renamed and a corresponding map are shown below:
Concession Road 10 – West of Courtland to Lake Simcoe
Concession Road 10 (Private) – South of Concession Road 10 (at Courtland)
Concession Road 10 – East of Muley Point Road
Concession Road 10 – West of Muley Point Road to Lake Simcoe
Concession Road 10 (Private) – South of Concession Road 10 (north of Lawton Lane)
