A former Mayor of Kincardine has passed away.
Donna Ada Wilson-Kennedy (formerly Wilkinson), passed away Wednesday in her 84th year.
A release from the Municipality of Kincardine says Wilson-Kennedy had an extensive career representing the public in local politics. She served as a councillor from 1971-73, then as Reeve from 1985-87. She was appointed as acting Mayor in 1988 and served fully in the role until from 1989-1991.
Throughout her life, Wilson-Kennedy also served on multiple committees including the Canada Day Committee,Kincardine Public Library Committee, Kincardine and District Community Centre Recreation Board, Industrial Committee, BNPD Impact Advisory Committee, Economic Development Committee, Regional Tourist Council of Grey and Bruce as well as the Parks and Tourism Committee.
In honour of Wilson-Kennedy’s life and public service, the Municipality of Kincardine will be flying flags at half-mast.
